Ripon senior Angelina Martinez repeats as Trans Valley League Co-Pitcher of the Year, and fellow Indians Addison Naranjo and Izabelle Spurzem made all-league for a fourth time.
They’re part of a talented 2026 All-TVL Team that includes players who are vying for a state championship.
Six area athletes in total earned all-league recognition, including a freshman standout from Ripon Christian (1-11 TVL, 2-18 overall).
Ripon (8-4, 17-9) placed third in the TVL behind Hughson (12-0, 20-4) and Escalon (9-3, 16-11).
Two-way producer Kylie Tangney of Hughson was named MVP and Co-Pitcher of the Year. Huskies teammate Emma Carne, who split time at third base and pitcher, is Defensive Player of the Year, and Chase Moorehead received Coach of the Year.
UC Riverside-committed shortstop Arianna Velasco garnered Offensive Player of the Year. The junior has led Escalon to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V championship, and the Cougars are in the NorCal Division IV semifinals.
Signed with Cal State East Bay, Martinez shined in her two years with Ripon after transferring from St. Mary’s. She compiled a 6-3 record in league with a 1.85 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings. Martinez was also one of the Indians’ top producers at the plate, hitting for a .406 batting average with two homers and 12 RBIs.
Naranjo caps her decorated four-year varsity career with a fourth appearance on the All-TVL Team. She was league MVP last season.
The middle infielder is bound for NCAA Division I Canisius University after leading Ripon wtih a .517 average, 15 hits 15 runs and 12 stolen bases — all team-highs in 11 league contests.
Dominican University signee Spurzem played third base and catcher the past four seasons. She contributed a .343 average, four doubles and 14 RBIs to the attack.
Freshman sister Ellie Spurzem and senior Clara Townsend are also on the All-TVL Team.
The younger Spurzem had an impressive varsity debut, bashing a team-high five homers in league play with a .406 average, eight steals, 12 runs and 14 RBIs.
Townsend made four league appearances in the pitcher’s circle, going 2-1 with a 1.24 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 17 innings.
Freshman shortstop Austynn MacWilliams is spearheading the revival of softball at Ripon Christian after the school did not have a team last season. She made an immediate impact for the Knights, hitting .636 in league with nine runs and 18 stolen bases.
Earning honorable mention are Ripon sophomore first baseman Mikayla Dietrich and Ripon Christian freshman pitcher/outfielder Annabelle Hoff.
