There are 410,859 voters registered in San Joaquin County that are eligible to vote in today’s primary election.

There are 130 polling places, 27 ballot drop boxes, 130 mail ballot districts, 260 total precincts, about 1,200 poll workers including 300 student poll workers from San Joaquin County school districts.

Voters have multiple convenient options to cast their ballots through 8 p.m. tonight

*By Mail: Return your ballot using the free postage-paid envelope. Ballots must be postmarked by June 2, 2026 in order to be counted.

*Ballot Drop Boxes: Deposit your ballot at any of the County’s 27 secure drop box locations. There are drop off boxes at the Manteca, Lathrop, and Ripon city halls.

*Election Day Voting: Cast your ballot at any of the County’s 130 polling locations the ROV office or drop box locations until 8 p.m. today.

*Drive-Through Drop Off: Available outside the San Joaquin County Administration Building, 44 N. San Joaquin Street, Stockton. Opens today at 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Night.

Polls will close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, at which time the ROV will release its first results. This initial report will include all Vote-by-Mail ballots received through Saturday, May 30, along with all ballots cast during the early voting period.

Tabulation of ballots from the precincts will take place at the ROV Warehouse at 7585 Longe Street, Suite 112 in Stockton. There will be a specific media, observer, campaign check-in and viewing area which is open to the public.

Beginning at 8 p.m., election results will be updated every two hours throughout the evening until all ballots cast at in-person polling locations are fully reported. These updates will be made publicly available to ensure real-time access for voters, media, and stakeholders.

Following Election Night, the ROV will continue regular updates during the official canvass period. The first report on remaining unprocessed ballots will be issued on Thursday, June 4, by 5 p.m., followed by an update on Friday, June 5, by 7 p.m.

Thereafter, updates will be posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday by 7 p.m. until all ballots have been verified and counted.

Most common errors made with mail in ballots are:

*Voters forgetting to vote the entire ballot

*Voters forgetting to put all cards in the return envelope

*Voters forget to sign their ballot envelope and include their home address.

*Voters should ensure their envelope is signed if mailing in their ballot or dropping it off at a polling location or drop box.
