Ripon put the finishing touches on its perfect Trans Valley League season on Tuesday, winning year-end tournament at Micke Grove Golf Links.
Junior Cameron Seefeldt secured league MVP honors, placing second with a 9-over 81. As a team, Ripon outscored runner-up Hilmar 375-403. Ripon also won the mid-season tournament in September and went 12-0 in dual matches.
Hughson finished third in the finale with a 420. Ripon Christian (428), Sonora (484) and Escalon (490) rounded out the field. The top two overall team placers and six individuals qualify for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V playoffs.
Isabella Northcutt of Hilmar was low medalist with a 76, and teammate Grace Vitorino took third with an 83. Ripon took up five of the top seven spots.
Sophomore Grace Ortmann (fourth, 97), Brynn Daley (fifth, 98) and Eve Toledo (sixth, 99) combined with Seefeldt for Ripon’s team score. Cailyn Young took seventh with a 101, and Malini Harvey finished 21st with a 116. Ortmann, Daley and Young joined Seefeldt on the All-TVL Team. Amanda Agostini earned Coach of the Year.
Ripon Christian sophomore Brookelynn Giest came in 10th place with a 104. Emmry Van Groningen (11th, 107), Gianna Masellis (14th, 108), and Lauren Van Groningen (16th, 109) made up the rest of the Knights’ score. Brooklyn Schenk (18th, 110) and Bailey Van Gorkum (19th, 111) also competed for RC.
It’s the first TVL title for Ripon since its undefeated 2023 season. That was its fifth straight league championship, with the rest coming in the now-defunct Valley Foothill League North Division.
Section qualifiers out of the TVL are headed back to Micke Grove on Oct. 26 for the Division V Tournament. The tournament champion and six individuals from there advance to the SJS Masters Tournament.
