SAN JOSE (AP) — Aramis Garcia hit a two-run homer in the first inning, leading the San Jose Giants to a 3-2 win over the Stockton Ports on Friday.
Dylan Rheault allowed a run, but got Eli White to ground out with runners on second and third to end the game for his first save of the season.
The home run by Garcia scored Daniel Carbonell to give the Giants a 2-0 lead.
After the teams traded runs, the Ports cut into the deficit in the ninth inning when Chris Iriart scored on a wild pitch.
San Jose left-hander Conner Menez (1-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Dustin Hurlbutt (1-1) took the loss in the California League game after giving up two runs and four hits over 3 1/3 innings.
