Mondou's triple leads Stockton to 9-7 win over Lancaster

STOCKTON (AP) -- Nate Mondou hit a two-run triple in the fourth inning, leading the Stockton Ports to a 9-7 win over the Lancaster JetHawks on Friday.
Angel Duno got Vince Fernandez to fly out with a runner on first to end the game for his eighth save of the season.
The triple by Mondou started the scoring in a four-run inning and tied the game 6-6. Later in the inning, Stockton took the lead when Jonah Heim hit an RBI single and then added to it when Luke Persico hit an RBI triple.
The Ports tacked on another run in the fifth when Dairon Blanco hit an RBI single, bringing home Jesus Lage.
Lancaster saw its comeback attempt come up short after Max George hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to cut the Stockton lead to 9-7.
Stockton starter Xavier Altamirano (2-0) picked up the win despite allowing seven runs and 12 hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Brandon Gold (5-5) took the loss in the California League game after a rough outing in which he allowed eight runs and 13 hits over four innings.
For the JetHawks, George hit two solo home runs.
