Every Ripon player either scored or knocked in at least one run Friday as tournament host Ripon shellacked Northgate 16-0 in a mercy rule four-inning affair in the quarterfinal of the District 67 11-U All-Star tournament at Thiemann Athletic Park Dylan Gasper (2 for 3, two RBI, two runs) got Ripon going with a two-RBI single in the first inning, plating Elias Sandoval (two runs) and Jacob Peterson (2 for 3, double, two runs) and Ripon never looked back.
Ripon’s Gavin Cloward went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs and initiated a 6-3 double play from his shortstop position. Lucas Durao was 2 for 2 with a run, Pete Winters and Lincoln Reynolds each knocked in one run and scored two, Derek Ponce had a two-RBI single, Tallon
Koolhaas and Ben Boling each knocked in a run and Ryder Hall scored two.
Peterson threw into the fourth, allowing three hits while striking out four. Boling faced and retired the final two batters of the night.
Ripon faces Mountain House tonight at 7 in the semifinal.
Manteca 17, Weston Ranch 2
Manteca scored nine runs in the first inning and six runs in the second of the consolation contest. Manteca will face Northgate this afternoon at 5:30 in the consolation quarterfinal Manteca’s Walter Munoz (double, three RBI) and Marcus Aldridge (double, three RBI) both went 3 for 3. Zacari Stevenson ripped two triples, knocked in one run and scored two.
Jackson Akers pitched one scoreless inning and posted three RBI.
