The class rock band Amped is playing Thursday’s Music on Maple.

The Manteca Parks & Recreation event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the 100 block of downtown Manteca.

Attendees are encouraged to put on band tees and come ready to shred during an air guitar contest.

The evening also features vendor booths, food trucks, a beer garden, and more.

Music on Maple takes place the third Thursday of every month, from May to October.

Water play feature not

working this weekend

City officials have indicated that despite rumors, the new interactive water play feature at Woodward Park will not be operating during the Memorial Weekend Commemoration this weekend.

It will not become operational until after the 10 a.m. ribbon cutting on Thursday, May 28.
