Students in the Ripon Unified School District will be attending Sky Mountain Outdoor Education Center Program this year for science camp.

At Monday’s monthly 6 p.m. open session in the Council Chamber, 259 N. Wilma Ave., the Ripon Unified school board is scheduled to sign the agreement with the San Joaquin County Office of Education for youngsters – fifth- and / or sixth- grade students – to experience the outdoor education program.

Sky Mountain is located in Placer County, in particular, at the top of the north fork of the American River in the Tahoe National Forest.

Camp Jones Gulch in La Honda up in the Santa Cruz Mountain served as SJCOE’s science camp for the better part of the past six decades.
