Winter concert season for MUSD schools

Manteca Unified music students are gearing up winter concerts.

Kathrine Puck’s Nile Garden Elementary students already performed their Band and Choir Concert in November but want you to watch for them in the Manteca Twilight Parade on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Great Valley Elementary School will hold their Winter Concert Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. The 4th-8th grade students performing make up the Great Valley Intermediate Band, the Great Valley Advanced Band and the Great Valley Choir. They will perform in the Great Valley Gym under the direction of Andrew Hildebrand. This concert is free to the public.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m., the 4th-6th grade Widmer Elementary students who are in Beginning Band, Intermediate Band and Choir will perform their Winter Concert. They are directed by Kristy Burch. The free concert will be held in the Multipurpose Room at Widmer Elementary School.

Veritas Elementary School will have an Intermediate and Advanced Band Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. The 6th-8th graders are under the direction of Mike Mulidor and Melissa Manalastas. The concert is in the Veritas Elementary Multipurpose Room and is free to the public.

The Advanced Band students and 5th-8th grade choirs from New Haven and Joshua Cowell will perform on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m. Under the direction of Stephanie Rawls, the free concert will be at Manteca High School in the Dorothy Mulvihill Theater.

Sierra High band concert & dinner

There will be a Sierra High School Band Dinner and Concert Thursday, Dec. 8, in the school cafeteria. The $5 potato dinner is from 5:30-6:30 p.m.and is by presales only. Contact Rick Hammarstrom at rhammarstrom@musd.net for dinner tickets by 3 p.m. today. There is a concert following dinner at 7:00 p.m. It will feature the SHS Jazz Combos (during dinner), the SHS Band and small ensembles. Admission to the concert is free.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, the Mossdale Elementary School Beginning and Intermediate Bands and the 4th-6th grade Choir will perform in the school gym. The 7 p.m. concert is free to the public. The students are directed by Mike Mulidor and Kathrine Puck.

The bands from East Union High School will perform their Winter Concert on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the EUHS cafeteria. Music will be performed by the Jazz Band and the Concert and Symphonic Bands under the direction of Terry Silveira. The concert is free to the public.

The Shasta Band Program will be presenting its Winter Concert on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Hornets’ Nest at Shasta School. The program features band students in 5th through 8th grade under the direction of Miss Ehlen and Mr. Beattie.

The Lathrop High School LAMP Band and Choir will perform at the Lathrop Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m. The LAMP Band and Choir is made up of 7th and 8th graders. The ceremony will be held at the Lathrop Community Center, 15557 Fifth St., Lathrop. In addition to the music concert and tree lighting, there will be a visit from Santa, cookies and hot chocolate. The students are under the direction of Desiree Bugarin and Elizabeth Van Eerde.

Manteca High School Band and Choir students will perform in the Manteca High School Winter Concert on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. There will be music by the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Barbershop Quartets. The concert will be held in Dawson Center. The bands are directed by Anthony Dahl and the choirs are directed by Mary Monaghan. The concert is free to the public, but they will gladly take donations to help with expenses.

East Union High choirs performing concert Dec. 12

The choirs from East Union High School will perform on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. The Winter Concert will feature the Concert Choir, the Camerata Choir, the all-girls Bella Choir and the Men’s Choir. They will be singing in six different languages. The choirs are under the direction of Anne Talcott and Alyssa Dye (student teacher from CSUS). The free concert will be at Manteca Presbyterian Church on North and Main.

Sierra High School will perform their free Holiday Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Daniel Talcott, the Beginning Choir will perform in the SHS cafeteria.

Veritas Elementary School will have a Beginning Band Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Veritas Multipurpose Room. This free concert will feature 5th and 6th grade band students. They are under the direction of Melissa Manalastas.

The George McParland Band and Choir will be performing their Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in the McParland cafeteria. The band is directed by Mr. Robert Krueger and the choir is directed by Mrs. Kristy Burch. Admission to the concert is free.

The Lincoln Choir Program will be presenting its Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln School Cafeteria. The program features choir students in 5th through 8th grade under the direction of Miss Ehlen.

Weston Ranch High School’s Choir and Show Choir will perform their Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. It will be held in the Weston Ranch High School Theater and is free to the public. The choirs are under the direction of Jessica Claud.

Lathrop Elementary School will hold their Winter Concert Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Mike Mulidor, the 4th-6th graders who are in Beginning Band, Intermediate Band and Choir will perform. The concert is in the Lathrop Elementary Gym and is free to the public.

Lathrop High holiday concert on Dec. 13

The Lathrop High School Band and Choir will perform their Holiday Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. This free concert will be held in the Lathrop High School Performing Arts Theater. The band is directed by Desiree Bugarin and the choir is directed by Elizabeth VanEerde.

On Wednesday, Dec. 14, the Weston Ranch High School Band, Jazz and Orchestra Concert will be at 7:00 p.m. It will be held in the WRHS Theater and is free to the public. These instrumental groups are directed by Joe Barron.

On Thursday, Dec. 15, the Golden West Bands and the Golden West/ Shasta Choirs will perform “Forever Christmas.” The 5th-8th grade musicians are under the direction of Cindy Karim. The free concert will be held in the Golden West gym at 6:30 p.m.

The Lincoln Band Program will be presenting its Winter Concert on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln School Cafeteria. The program features band students in 5th through 8th grade under the direction of Miss Ehlen.

On Thursday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m., the Brock Elliott Beginners Concert will be held in the Brock Elliott Cafeteria. It will feature students in 4th-6th grade under the direction of Melissa Manalastas.

The Brock Elliott Winter Choir Concert will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20,, at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. It will feature the choir students in 4th-8th grade under the direction of Melissa Manalastas.

The Brock Elliott Winter Band Concert will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The band students in 6th-8th grade will perform under the direction of Melissa Manalastas. The concert is free to the public.

Walter Woodward’s bands and choirs will have their Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. The free concert will be held in the Woodward gym and will be directed by Shannon Beattie.

Band students at George Y. Komure will present a 5th and 6th grade Beginning Band Concert on Jan. 18. Under the direction of Dana O’Dell, the concert will be held in the cafeteria and is free to the public.
