Landon Chamberlain and Andrew DeFrenchi led a defensive stand at the end of the game to secure a 22-20 non-league junior varsity win for Manteca over Escalon.
Minutes earlier, Jacob Hernandez scampered 90 yards for his second touchdown to give Manteca the lead. Hernandez had a 10-yard touchdown run earlier in the game and K.P. MacDannald pulled in a 65-yard touchdown pass from Marco Ramos.

Manteca 40, Weston Ranch 6
Five different Buffaloes crossed the goal line in the Valley Oak League contest.
Preston Smith (5 of 9 passing, 49 yards) scored on his only run of 54 yards, Ruben Moreno (four carries, 80 yards) tallied a 12-yard scoring run, Damariae Long (six carries, 54 yards) scored from 9 yards out and Eddie Anthony made his one rush count, scoring on a 75-yard run. Santana Stevenson started the Manteca scoring parade with a 16-yard touchdown run. Chris Chavez accounted for all five of the Buffaloes completions, gaining 49 yards on those five receptions.
Eddie Anthony made an interception to highlight the defensive effort that kept the Cougars offense out of the end zone and limited Weston Ranch to 50 yards of total offense. Isiah White made eight tackles for Manteca, Moreno seven and Angel Garay five.
Ahmyri Hall returned an interception for the lone Weston Ranch touchdown and teammate Robert Richard added an interception.
Oakdale 38 Sierra 8
Tali Viapun pulled in a 22-yard touchdown pass from Zak Willson in the fourth quarter to avert a shutout for the Timberwolves.
Victor Yamamoto picked up 105 yards on seven carries for Sierra and Willson was 3 of 6 passing for 51 yards.
Isaiah Lynch led the Timberwolves defense with nine tackles along with a fumble recovery. Mario Juarez added eight stops, Jonathan Lawas seven, Yamamoto five, Alfredo Cano four – all for a loss — and Brock Felt three.
Gabriel Garcia (interception), Tim Sargeson, Jesse Flores, Manual Castaneda, Taylor Rowe, Izrael San Nichols, Cameron Diego and Anthony Jimenez all contributed on defense for Sierra.
