LATHROP — Lathrop Elementary School Warriors celebrated STAR success with its annual “Evening with the STARs”.

All students who earned a 10 point increase on their STAR scores over the previous year or who scored Proficient or Advanced were recognized at the STAR celebration. This year, a 20-point gain will be needed for an invitation to next year’s event. The school’s teaching staff was present to serve up the 10-foot ice-cream sundaes.  The 22 tubs of ice-cream were donated by Baskin Robbins with the school’s Parent-Teacher Club supporting all the fixings.

Earlier, the school’s administration shared with the students that if their overall school goal was met, both the principal and vice principal will dye or paint their heads.  Recently, student leadership asked if the principal would wear a chicken costume all week if the school reached 800.

Lathrop Elementary set a goal for themselves as a site of 770 on this year’s STAR test.
