Explore one of the Central Valley's last remaining riparian forests with the East Stanislaus Resource Conservation District.
The ESRCD is inviting community members to join a special guided nature walk — “Walk with a Restorationist” — at Caswell Memorial State Park on Saturday, June 27.
It takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Caswell Memorial State Park six miles south of Manteca at the end of Austin Road.
The cost is $15 per adult, $10 per child (12 and under), free for children ages 3 and under.
A picnic lunch will be provided following the walk. Whether you are interested in native plants, wildlife, restoration, or simply spending time outdoors, this event offers a chance to connect with nature and learn more about one of the Northern San Joaquin Valley’s most remarkable natural areas.
For 30 years, ESRCD has served Stanislaus County by helping conserve natural resources through habitat restoration, agricultural conservation, environmental education, and community partnerships.
The guided walk offers a unique opportunity to experience conservation in action while exploring one of the last remaining and most extensive examples of riparian woodland in California's Central Valley.
Led by ESRCD restoration staff, participants will walk approximately 1.5 miles through oak woodland and river habitat along the Stanislaus River while learning about native plants, wildlife, restoration projects, and the ecological importance of riparian ecosystems.
Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions, observe local species, and gain a deeper understanding of the conservation work taking place throughout the region.
Ticket sales support conservation and restoration work in Stanislaus County, including improvements to conservation easements and ongoing stewardship of local landscapes.
