Ripon launches annual streetside brush pick up
city of ripon logo

The City of Ripon’s annual Brush Pick Up just kicked off.

Public Works Director James Pease provided this reminder at last Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

From now through Jan. 7, residents can set their fall leaves, trimmings, and – later – Christmas trees off to the side for disposal.

Such items may be placed along the curbside near the street gutters, but must remain clear to allow for water runoff.

Here’s more on the Brush Pick Up program:

·         Palm tree cuttings will not be accepted.

·         No other solid waste of any kind shall be deposited among the clippings or leaves.

·         Branches should be no more 4 feet long and 6 inches in diameter.

·         No tree stumps.

·         Do not bag or tie the trimmings.

It will not be necessary for residents to call City Hall to have the trimmings picked up. Rather, a Public Works crew will conduct the pickups while checking the neighborhoods.

Public Works on the program: “It is not a set route so if they do not pick it up one week, they will pick it up the next week.”
