Trunk or Treat events set for Manteca, Ripon
Trunk or Treat in Manteca is planned for Saturday evening at the Refuge Church, 486 Button Ave.

With that there is a number of Truck or Treat events in the area.

The Manteca Chamber of Commerce is conducting a free drive thru trick or treat in connection with a separate drive thru dinner tonight from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 1463 Moffat Blvd. in the Manteca Commerce Park near the Crossroads Community Church.

Several businesses in Manteca including Frolo Frozen Yogurt and Gamer's Path are looking forward to taking part in Trick-or-Treat gathering at Refuge Church, 486 Button Ave.

Frolo announced via social media plans to close by 5 p.m. on this day in order to take part in Trunk or Treat, scheduled to begin at that time through 8 p.m.

Ditto that for Gamer's Path on Facebook, with the recent post saying: "We will be participating in the community event."

Trunk or Treat at Refuge Church will continue to follow COVID-19 safety protocols (social distancing, wearing of face masks, sanitizing, etc.) for those planning to attend. Children can wear their costumes in a safe environment, going trunk to trunk of decorated vehicles.

Besides candy, the Teal Pumpkin Project will be there for children with food allergies.

Trunk or Treat, in addition, will feature a DJ and much more.

The Calvary Reformed Church (741 2nd St. #2300), Immanuel Christian Reformed Church (517 Orange St.) and Ripon Grace Church (734 W. Main St.) will be hosting family-fun Halloween events on Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The same safety protocols will be put in place. But that doesn't mean it can't be fun, said organizers of Trunk or Treat.

They added: "There will be tons of candy and fun costumes to see all from the safety of your car."

Those who complete the tour of all three churches during that span will be entered in a drawing for an epic prize.

Families taking part can start at any of the churches to complete the Halloween trifecta.
