Woodward Elementary School had past and present principals on hand at Tuesday's eighth grade promotion ceremony.
The drive-thru event featured Sherrie Jamero, who started the school year in the top administrative position.
She was joined by Interim Principal Heather Thomson —she'll officially be the school principal in the fall — along with Manteca Unified Deputy Superintendent Roger Goatcher, who was the first-ever principal at Woodward.
The drive-thru promotion parade included families of the eighth graders in their decorated vehicles.
Among the top academic students (4.0 grade point average) were Edward Anthony, Vincent Cardoza, Gregory Collins, Nikolas Ellks, Anthony Jimenez, Yok Chai Ma, Wadan Mehraban, Kaitlyn Membel, Janeli Mendiola, Johan Peringelil, Preston Smith, and Melissa Valle.
Those earning honors (3.5 GPA or better) included Caleb Adams, Landon Butler, Elena Chavez, Gregory Cobian, Rylie Cruz, Aleena Daquioag, Abigail Gafford, Tri Hoang, Alyssa Lichens, Jackson Lumby, Jacob Susano Manglinong, Dakota Murillo, Julian Oliveri, Michael Osanna, Elianna Ramirez, Rocco Rattaro, Alyssa Ridgeway, Christopher Rondon, Celeste Rosas, Rehon Safi, Snowden Snyder, Lorenzo Vargas and Rasul Zadran.
