The east side of the Manteca Bedquarters building in downtown Manteca at Yosemite Avenue and Main Street will see the first of military murals going up next week.

Manteca Mural Society spokesman Norman Knodt said dedication of the first mural is on Monday, Nov. 11, at 1:30 p.m. The initial mural is titled “Eagle Hearts” and is a tribute to those who have served in the Global War on Terror.

Others murals will serve as tributes to veterans of World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Knodt said the murals are being installed in sections that will allow their movement in the future should a building be erected on the corner parking lot.

The side wall of what was Turner Hardware during World War II once displayed the names of all Manteca area service men and women taking part in that war.
