RIPON — Ripon Christian Preschool is busy getting ready for the new school year.
For the first five years there was only one classroom in which to conduct all the classes. A second classroom has been added for this year to provide more schedule choices available for our students.
Ripon Christian now offer either a two- or three-day schedule for both preschool and pre-k students. Also new is the Stay and Play program until 12:30 p.m. and the All Day program until 3 p.m. They also still offer an afternoon class for both ages for families who prefer afternoon classes.
The school has hired new teachers and aides to keep the teacher/child ratio low. Substitute teachers from previous years, Amy De Bruyn and Kristin Miller, will be teaching the Pre-K classes next year and Jen Vander Meulen will be co-teaching the Preschool Class with Liz Templeman.
They have also added four new part-time classroom aides to round out the staff.
Director Elly Rampoldi will not be teaching on a daily basis but will still be a presence in the classroom while directing the program and substituting for other staff as needed.
The playground has undergone some major improvements this summer as well. The funds for these improvements came from the school circle that held a “Run for the Playground” jog-a-thon this past spring. A trike path was created and a beautiful new play structure designed for 2-5 year olds was installed. They were also able to obtain some gently used Little Tikes play structures with funds from generous donors to RC Preschool over the years.
The preschool currently has 91 students enrolled for next year with an additional fourteen spots still open
