Callie Jane Hinkston, 90, entered into rest on August 23, 2010 in Manteca, California. She was born on June 17, 1920 in Atkins, Arkansas. Callie was born the seventh of 9 children to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark and Ella Prince. She joins her husband of 40 years in heaven, Charlie Hinkston, and her son Donald Hinkston as well as her parents and all 8 of her siblings.

Mrs. Hinkston is survived by her son Jerry Hinkston and his wife Jeani of Manteca. She was blessed by 3 grandchildren: Brandon Hinkston of Manteca, Stephanie Carpenter of Manteca and Marjorie Stricklin of Stockton. She had 7 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Donal, Steven, Kayleen, Robert, Emily, Brian Jr. and Briana.

Callie worked in production for 15 years for Memorex and Hewlett-Packard. In Callie’s young years she loved playing a game of softball. She was an avid baseball fan always cheering on her favorite team while watching the game on TV. She was a “political junkie” and enjoyed watching debates as she was very knowledgeable about what was going on around the world. Callie was an extremely classy lady loving the beauty of ballroom dancing. She will be remembered as an elegant lady who was full of life. She will be missed.

Mrs. Hinkston’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. She will be laid to rest with her late husband at Los Gatos Memorial Park in a private family setting.
