Gilbert also known as “Gil,” was a Manteca native. He graduated from Manteca High School then went on to serve his country through the United States Air Force. Gilbert was a fun-loving man with an amazing personality. His Catholic faith guided Gil through the years he was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sonora were he was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree.  He was an avid sports fan, always cheering on his favorite team the San Francisco 49ers, never missing any breath taking games. Gilbert had a passion for rebuilding custom cars; he was especially proud of his sea foam colored 1958 Cadillac. He was always so proud to take his two loves for a ride: his car, but especially the love of his life, his wife Jackie who was his best friend and confidant. He held a special place in his heart for every member of his family. Gilbert was honored to have as godson a very special child by the name of Antonio Sampson. Gilbert will always live in the hearts of many people. He will be remembered as a strong man, a loving father, brother, son, but above all a devoted husband… and a true cowboy at heart.
