Paul Houston Williams, 86, of Manteca, CA passed away in the early morning of Sunday, September 12, 2010 in Chowchilla, CA.  He owned and operated “Williams Chevron Service” in Chowchilla and Manteca for 35 years before retiring in 1986.  After retirement he enjoyed fishing with his good friend Don, and spending time in his garden.

Paul’s love for the Lord and family gave him much pleasure.  He was a former Deacon at the “First Christian Church” in Manteca and enjoyed dedicating time to church events and special improvement projects of the buildings and grounds.

He is a veteran of the US Army, rank of Transportation Sergeant during the Korean War.

Paul is survived by his second wife Shirley Williams of 17 years, a son Roderick Williams and wife Beverly, a daughter Veloyce Robertson and husband Richard; grandchildren Richard Robertson Jr, Karen Pickering, Christopher Williams, 5 great Grandchildren with one soon to arrive; step-daughter Diane Smith;  step-sons Howard, Dale, Leonard, Robert, and Gene Matts, with numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by his first wife Mary Lucille Williams of 43 years,  parents John and Alpha Williams; brothers, Elmer and Vernon Williams; sisters, May Whitman, Mary Keeler, Ruby Ream, Lorene Williams, and step-daughter Arlene Matts.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Nimicos and all the staff for the care and kindness given to our father and family during the many months he resided at the facility.

Graveside services handled by P.L. Fry and Son will be held at East Union “Pioneer” Cemetery in Manteca, CA on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11 a.m.. An on-line guest book is available at  www.plfryandson.com for your condolences to the family.
