Peggy Thran, 87, entered into rest on October 17, 2016 in Lathrop, CA. She was born the only child to the late Joseph and Rossie Porcher in Florida on August 26, 1929.
   She is preceded in death by her  husband Ernest L. Thran and her daughter Norma Jo Thompson.
   Peggy is survived by her daughter Betty (Tom) James, son Roy Thran and son-in-law John Thompson. She was blessed by five grandchildren Tori, Matthew, Stacey, Rachelle and Jonathan.
   Peggy was a resident of Manteca for 69 years where she and her husband ran the family business “Thran’s Feed and Seed Store.”  Peggy also worked for Franzia Winery as a bookkeeper retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Eastern Star where she held the rank of Worthy Matron and Deputy Grand Matron. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Manteca where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and working with  the children. She absolutely loved being a grandmother to her five grandchildren always encouraging them in all of their dreams; she loved them unconditionally. Peggy will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many.
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Thran family.  A memorial will be held at First Baptist Church, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. 715 E. North St., Manteca, CA.
