City needs to answer Gordon property questions
Placeholder Image

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

Your article is very alarming, (“Toxic site in Manteca neighborhood:, Friday, June 21), since our property is located on Suess Court. We did not know any of this information about the City’s responsibility to the Gordon Property. We have never heard any   information from the City, or had our well tested!

We have only learned things about the site from our late neighbor Bill Clausen, whose property backs up to the Gordon property on Suess Court. We were told that the State had tied up the property in order to do a study as to the possible toxics on the land, and then to clean it up! Why have we not been contacted by the City and kept informed? Why are we only getting an update in  the Bulletin? It sounds like the City is willing to sit on its hands and wait until the arsenic settles further into the soil and does destroy our well... all the properties on Suess Court. and Corwin Drive are on a well. What does this news do for our future property values, as well?

There are many questions that need to be answered here!.

Please respond.
