Day 258

It is kind of interesting how many conversations I get into now about food, weight loss, exercise, etc... And I never start them and I even try to avoid most of them, but they just happen. I guess it just goes to show how much people think about food, or their weight, or how their clothes don’t fit, or how they don’t look good in a picture...which naturally leads into the I want to exercise, I want to be fit, I want to be healthy conversation. So many commonalities amongst all of us make you wonder who is not fighting this battle.

Day 259

I hate when I run out of water at work and I have to fork over a dollar for the soda machine because it causes me to have to stand there and make a choice. When I put the dollar in I now have the opportunity to buy a soda!! I debate it for a minute while a teacher friend walks by and questions if I’m going to get a soda. I told her I was because it was a soda kind of day and I had earned it! I push the button for the diet soda and... Sold out!!!! I push the button below it... Sold out!!! Are you kidding me? This is someone’s way of telling me that I need water and not a soda, so I push the water button and it falls gracefully into my hands. Lesson learned.

Day 260

Tonight at my daughters’ volleyball games the conversation once again turned to forming an adult volleyball league. There has been much Facebook discussion about this and there seems to be quite a bit of interest forming as well. This is something that excites me...exercise while having fun! I really hope that this is a venture that gets off the ground.

Day 261

Along with this journey I am also competing in a biggest loser challenge at work. The challenge at work ends right before Thanksgiving and we have periodic, voluntary weigh-ins. The teacher that is in charge of the event sent me an email asking if I wanted to weigh in today because she had the scale out and was ready. Was it rude of me to reply, “no, thank you?!?!?” I have not weighed myself in a few weeks, as the scale was becoming an obsession. I’m hoping my strategy is working.

Day 262

A big “woohoo” goes out to all my friends at MUSD... we made it to Fall break! This break signifies the end to the long, stressful part of the beginning of the school year and also makes us realize that the end of 2014 will be here before you know it. I’m headed to Sacramento this weekend to relax and rejuvenate...and refocus my mind.

Day 263

Good friends, good food, good laughs...not a day to worry about calories!

Day 264

Glad I didn’t worry about those calories yesterday, because today they are killing my stomach and my head!!! Total carb overload...but, it really makes me appreciate and understand why eating healthy is such a good choice! Just got back from the store and I am ready for my week off from work!
