December 1st....where has this year gone? It is time to hunker down and make the most of this last month. My eating was right on target today which makes me feel really good about myself. I also worked out tonight which makes me feel even better about myself. I was also proud of the fact that not only did I work out tonight but so did my husband and my two daughters. It feels good when everyone is doing the right thing.
Today I wore a pair of slacks to work. This is not a major event in most people’s lives, but for me it is a rare occasion....so rare that as soon as I walked into the office my office manager commented on the fact that I was actually wearing pants. She told me I looked good in the pants and then asked me why I didn’t wear pants more often. I replied that I prefer skirts and dresses because they are less constricting! As I continued to walk past her I immediately thought about how ironic it was that I rarely wear pants because I can remember just a few years back when all I wore was slacks and jeans.
It is so inspiring and motivating to see so many people at the gym on a cold, dark, rainy night in December. Everyone was so encouraging tonight as we did ladder sprints, burpees, sit ups, pushups, mountain climbers...and more burpees and sit ups, repeat again!!!! I must say that the hour flew by though even though we were doing a lot of things that might not always be fun, but I just kept telling myself that these are the things that help you lose weight and get healthy and fit.
I went to a meeting at the district office this morning and this is the first time that I can honestly say that the fruit platter was completely empty at the end of the meeting and there were still muffins and scones left!! The only part that stunk though was that I did not go to the food table until the end of the meeting so I missed out!!
Dear people in charge at Levi’s Stadium: You do not have any healthy food choices available at your snack bars!! They do however have the biggest pretzels, bags of popcorn, hot dogs, nachos and whatever else kind of crap food I have seen in a long time! They even have escalators for your convenience. With all this food and no way to burn it off because of the escalators you would think the stadium seats would be a little bit wider for all the beer guzzlers! My suggestion.....either sell healthier food or widen the seats!!!
Christmas shopping season has begun and that means lots of strolling around the mall. Talk about a place to people watch! Awhile ago I had made an observation that people who eat while they are driving are usually not eating something healthy. The same observation was made in the mall. People that are walking while they are eating are not munching down on an apple or a salad....rather, they are either drinking a soda or a frappacino while munching on something greasy or fried.
40 days left in the year......is it too late to lose 20 pounds???? I am such a procrastinator in real life, but always pull things off and never miss deadlines. The pressure is definitely there, let’s just hope the pressure doesn’t make me want to eat and eat and eat!
