Giants prevail in Northgate Little League play

Manteca Mayor Ben Cantu and Manteca Police Captain Mike Aguilar were part of the opening ceremonies Saturday at Brock Elliott School for the Spreckels Park Little League season.

Isiah Ahio, Ryann Medina and Lincoln Coenenberg combined at the plate and on the hill to lead the Giants to the 10-8 four-inning win over the Indians during Saturday’s AAA Northgate Little League play

 Ahio (three RBI, triple) struck out three, Medina (two runs) struck out four and Coenenberg (2 for 3, RBI, two runs) closed the game out by striking out the side in the fourth. 

 Shane Foreman had two RBI singles and Abel Garcia added an RBI single for the Giants. Ryan Alves walked three times and scored twice and Urijah Lopez doubled and scored for the Giants.  

 Red Sox 15, Orioles 0

 Daryl Carpenter picked up the complete-game win for the Red Sox, striking out 12.

 Carpenter scored three times behind two singles and a walk. 

 Ryan Allen had (three walks), Max Abrew (two walks) and Kellan Hansen (two walks) all scored for the Red Sox.  

 Kendall Sweet-Mallory led the Orioles with a single.
