The Sierra High Timberwolves are the top team in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III.

And for good reason.

They took care of No. 9 Pioneer rather handily at Daniel Teicheira High Memorial Stadium with a 5-0 victory on Friday.

Cal-bound Jadyn Shinn scored twice and senior goalie Callie Crain had two assists on free kicks. She came out of the goal to drive the ball into the box.

Even her coach Manuel Pires was amazed.

"As a goalie, Callie was involved in two goals," he said.

Shinn's first goal came off a penalty kick in the 31st minute.

Three minutes later, Crain assisted Tiana Cello's score, giving her team a 2-0.

Shortly before the break, Shinn scored again, with Crain getting the assist on the play.

Midway through the second half, the Timberwolves made it 4-0 on Juliana Rodriguez's goal. Preeya Singh helped out, getting the assist.

Moments later, Cello added the finishing touches with the final goal.

Pires, in addition, credited his defense led by Zoe Wilson, Kaitlyn Berdiago and Singh.

Sierra will host Beyer in Tuesday's quarterfinal game.

Christian Bros 3, Manteca 1

SACRAMENTO -- The Buffaloes (9-10-1) saw their season come to a halt after No. 3-seeded Christian Brothers scored twice in the second half on Friday.

No. 11 Manteca and the home team Falcons (14-4-5) were knotted up at 1-1 in the first half of the Division III second-round match.

Christian Brothers advanced to the semifinals on Tuesday at No. 2 Vista del Lago, which defeated No. 7 Ceres, 4-2.

Beyer 2, East Union 0

MODESTO -- The Lancers (16-4-3) were blanked by No. 4 Patriots at Mary Grogan Park.

After getting past No. 5 East Union, Beyer will now face the No. 1 Timberwolves.
