LAS VEGAS (AP) — A California man and Arizona woman wolfed down dozens of hot dogs to win a regional contest in Las Vegas and qualify for the annual hot dog eating contest at New York’s Coney Island.

Matt Stonie of San Jose, California, packed away 48 hot dogs and Michelle Lesco of Tucson, Arizona, downed 27 franks during the 10-minute contest Saturday at the New York-New York resort to earn male and female titles as Nevada Hot Dog Eating Champions.

They’ll advance to the annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island.

Last year, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut of San Jose, California, held on to his national title there by eating  61 franks and buns, short of his record of 69 dogs and buns set in 2013.
