VISALIA (AP) — Wyatt Marks hurled 6 2/3 scoreless innings, leading the Stockton Ports over the Visalia Rawhide in a 5-1 win on Friday.
Marks (1-0) picked up the win after he struck out five and walked four while allowing three hits.
Stockton went up 4-0 in the fifth after Luke Persico hit an RBI single and then scored on a two-run double by Eric Marinez.
The Ports tacked on another run in the sixth when Trace Loehr hit an RBI triple, bringing home Cobie Vance.
Connor Grey (8-8) went 5 1/3 innings, allowing five runs and nine hits while striking out four in the California League game.
