Agape Villages earns honor for programs

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) honored Agape Villages Foster Family Agency as an “Angel in Adoption” at an awards ceremony on Oct. 8 and gala on Oct. 9 in Washington, D.C.

Cheryl Youngblood, Program Director and Joann Beattie, Director of Resource and Development represented Agape at the events.  

Agape was nominated by Congressman Jeff Denham’s office.

 “I applaud the work of the Agape Villages for their tremendous dedication and commitment to foster families,” said Rep. Denham.  “Providing a safe and warm environment for children is what we should all strive to obtain.”

Agape Villages was honored for 55 years of service to foster children. During this time Agape has served over 5,700 children. Agape Villages goes beyond the basic needs of providing a home for foster children.  They provide innovative solutions to help children in foster care heal and prosper.  This year alone Agape will serve over 200 children in foster care, providing many of them with forever families. Agape Villages is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization serving foster children in over 13 counties in the Bay Area, Central Valley and greater Sacramento area.  Agape has office locations in Manteca and San Ramon.
