SJCOE plans free STAR showcase event May 1

The San Joaquin County Office of Education will host its first-ever STAR Showcase on Saturday, May 1.

This is an interactive fun-filled free event for the entire family scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the SJCOE facility at 2707 Transworld Drive, Stockton.

Activities include the opportunity to play, learn, and explore the many student programs and services that’s offered by SJCOE to the community.

The STAR Showcase will consist of multiple worlds, including:

• Build-A-World – Students can compete in a masonry challenge.

• Art World – Those attending can peruse a gallery full of award-winning masterpieces created by student artists.

• Entertainment World – Folks can enjoy sensational dancers and musical performances.

Other highlights will include student-led tours of the county’s facilities and buildings, student cooking demonstrations, and a glimpse of the latest solar and energy technology.
