A public hearing will take place Monday at the Ripon Planning Commission meeting on a proposed convenience market and gas station at 710 N. Jack Tone Rd.

At 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave., Galloway & Company, Inc. / Jack Tone Crossing Corp. will be requesting a conditional use permit for the 1.7 acre, mixed-used site along the vacant corner at Jack Tone Road and Canal Drive.

The plan calls for this 5,000 square foot area site – Les Schwab Tire Center along with Tractor Supply Co. and Boat Country are currently the only businesses in this area – to have a convenience store with eight fueling stations along with a car wash.

Commissioners will also look at the general planning on an abandonment of a public utility easement within Zumstein Estates.

They’ll try to determine if the abandonment is consistent with the goals and policies of the General Plan 2040.

Any findings here will be part of the written report to the Ripon City Council.
