The Manteca Police Department has a new sergeant.
After seven years with the agency and nearly 20 years in law enforcement, Brandon Lawry was recently promoted to the position – another step in an impressive career that has already included stints as a major crimes detective, child abuse and sexual assault detective, search and rescue manager, canine handler, training officer, school resource officer, and a member of a high tech investigations team.
With a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice management from Union Institute and University and a specialization in child abuse investigations from the ICI Robert Presley Institute, Lawry will take the next step into a management role within the department – serving as a frontline supervisor for patrol officers on the street.
“Beyond the badge, Brandon finds fulfillment in carpentry, globetrotting, savoring the great outdoors, perfecting his golf swing, and cherishing quality moments with his beloved family,” the Manteca Police wrote in a social media post congratulating Lawry on his achievement. “As a coach in youth sports, he exemplifies his commitment to both personal and professional growth, always striving to enhance his skills to better serve our community and his fellow officers.”
Lawry spent 12 year serving the counties of Tuolumne and Stanislaus before he came to work for the Manteca Police Department.
