While out on bail, burglary suspect arrested once again

A 19-year-old Manteca man who was out on bail after being arrested for the Thanksgiving Day burglary of a Rina Drive home  in the southeastern portion of the city where a vehicle and firearms were stolen has been arrested in connection with a burglary Monday of a residence on South Main Street.

Valdemar Gabriel Da Rocha was arrested Tuesday by Manteca Police who recovered electronic items taken in the most recent burglary as well as ammunition.

Besides beings arrested and booked into San Joaquin County Jail for possession of stolen property Da Rocha was also charged with being a prohibited person possessing ammunition and committing felony while out of custody on bail. He also was arrested on two felony warrants out of San Jose PD and Sunnyvale for first degree residential burglary and grand theft of firearms.

In the Thanksgiving incident Da Rocha was involved in a dog sitting scam. While the homeowners were away he stole their vehicle, personal property and firearms. Due to the theft of the firearms, Manteca Police arrested Da Rocha in November by using the SWAT team.
