Frank Louis Aufdermaur, born March 12, 1932 in Modesto, CA, passed away on February 12, 2016 surrounded by his family.  He spent his first 13 years living in Sloughhouse, then his family moved to a dairy farm in Manteca.  Frank graduated from Manteca High School in 1951, entered the Army in 1953 and after spending two years overseas, he returned to Manteca where he eventually met his wife-to-be, Elinor Kneppel from Elk Grove, CA. They were married in 1957 and moved to Ripon, where they started their family of five children, Heidi (Alan), Frank Jr. (Emily), Carl (Robin), Joe and Jeff.  He was fondly called ‘Grumpy’ by his
16 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren.
   Frank owned his own milk truck and collected 55 gallon milk cans from the small dairies in the Modesto area.  In 1960, they moved to their own dairy farm in Ripon.  In 1965, he began working at Simpson Lee Paper Co.  He retired in 1990 to work full time as a farmer.  His dairy eventually became an almond and walnut ranch.  He was a very hard worker. He loved his dogs and made sure the cats were fed every day. 
   He was a member of the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon.  ‘I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.’

   Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serving the Aufdermaur Family. A visitation will he be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 4-7pm, with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at
10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 19399 East Hwy 120, Ripon, CA, 95366, followed by burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
