Marguerite Lillian Gower Wedlake

Marguerite Lillian Gower Wedlake, 93, entered into rest on July 23, 2010 in Manteca, California. She was born on October 27, 1916 in Fowler, California to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Gower Jr. She joins her parents in heaven as well as her late husband James Duncan Wedlake.

Marguerite is survived by her son Michael Gower Wedlake. She was blessed by two grandchildren Paul Gower Wedlake and wife Simona of El Dorado Hills and Janna Katherine Sverdrup and husband Per of Redwood City. She adored her great-grandchildren; Jaden Gower Wedlake, Evan Michael Wedlake, Sofia Nineveh Sverdrup and Sarah Katherine Sverdrup.

Marguerite was a native of San Joaquin County, and later lived 20 years in Daly City, Ca, and  30 years in Newport Beach, Ca . In her younger years Marguerite was a beautiful dancer as she was a ballerina until her late 20s. She enjoyed brisk walks, reading, golfing, and dancing to all types of music. Marguerite was always the life of the party; she will be remembered for her zesty personality and her positive outlook on life. She will be missed.

Mrs. Wedlake’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. She will be laid to rest privately at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach, Ca. In memory of Marguerite, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Alzheimer’s Foundation,4411 N. Cedar Street, Suite 102, Sacramento, Ca.
