On Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the age of 84, Thelma left us to enter heaven.

She was born in Texas and worked in many local canneries, retiring from the Escalon Packers. She had a very outgoing spirit and a beautiful smile; enjoying dancing with the seniors club, quilting and making crafts with her grandchildren.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved to hear her childhood stories. A big-hearted and spirited woman who always had an open door for friends and family, she will be missed by many but remembered by all.

Thelma is survived by her children, Tommy Langston of Provo, Utah, Carolyn Jones of Fountain Inn, S.C., Harry Langston of Mesa, AZ., Bill Langston of Modesto; 13 grandchildren ;and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Bill Langston. An Escalon resident for 48 years, Thelma was a member of the Grange.

A visitation will be held at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon on March, 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. Services to be held March 12, 10 a.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, in Escalon with burial to follow at Burwood Cemetery.
