Siddall powers Ports offense to beat Nuts

STOCKTON (AP) — Brett Siddall hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, leading the Stockton Ports to a 3-2 win over the Modesto Nuts on Thursday.

Angel Duno struck Nick Thurman out with runners on first and third to end the game for his 13th save of the season.

The home run by Siddall scored Greg Deichmann and Eric Marinez to give the Ports a 3-1 lead.

In the top of the sixth, Modesto cut into the lead on a double-play groundout by Jack Larsen that scored Kevin Santa.

Stockton right-hander Matt Milburn (7-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on eight hits over seven innings. Opposing starter Austin Hutchison (1-3) took the loss in the California League game after allowing three runs and six hits over 5 2/3 innings.
